So here is the story. i have a 2004 525i. i ordered a set of axxis ultimates and tried to install them, it seems the pad on the outterside does not align right with the caliper. So i compared my oem to the axxis and it was slightly smaller at the ends. so i figured they sent me the wrong pads. so then i went to bmw and got oem brake pads.....got home, took apart everything, turns out that they are also not the right size. the ends of the pads are different from the ones i pulled off my car... anyone have this problem as well??

All I can say is to check if you have a manual or auto..the auto pads are larger! Did you check the part numbers on the back of the pads you took out of the calipers? And if so does it differ from the ones you bought?

you are correct, thankyou very much.... little did i know that auto and manual calipers are different. I went to the dealer and swapped out the manual pads for the auto pads. looks like the dealership made the same mistake.

thankyou again... got the pads in and they feel great!
