Just off the top of my head, make sure your battery terminals are tight and make sure the battery has enough of a charge before you troubleshoot to the next step.

1. Remove the the HID kit and put everything back to stock. When back to stock, try the headlights and try starting the car.

2. If things do not work properly after returning to stock, check the battery terminals and battery.

I've actually done that already. it seems after disconnecting the battery the computer became even more non responsive.

We knew the battery was because it didnt hold charge. We let the car sit on battery chargers, within a hours time the car was able to start. we let it run for another hour just so the battery can charge up. well couple of minutes after we shut down, the car was struggling again to start.

From what i was told the battery for the e60 has to be programmed to the computer or it wont charge right. The e60 seems to be more computer based than the e39. maybe you know something different that i dont. But that is good information on your part cause a friend of mine has a e39.
