I do not like the visible rust on my wheel mount and calipers. I went to Home Depot and purchased 1200 degree heat resistant silver and red paint.
My question is: Is it ok to simply paint right over these parts to cover the rust or do I need to sandblast this stuff and powdercoat them instead? Any advice would be great. It also seems to be a pita to find liquid VHT paint locally. Does Autozone sell the crap? In red, specifically? Here is what I want as an end result and the parts I'm referring to (Got pics from another thread here, ty):

i was thinking about having my calipers powder coated, the only drawback for me was the downtime for my car and you have to remove all the rubber parts on the calipers. sounds like too much of a hassle for me. i might do it for new calipers but not the existing ones.

Get your complete kit here: http://g2usa.com/brake_caliper_paint.shtml
No need to remove anything just clean them with the degreaser that comes with it
