To members with a bt tool, i wanted to ask if there is a "register battery replacement" in the menu? This will resest the IBS and correct current for the new battery. This is what the dealer is doing and charging for!

I have read a thread from n54tech forum that bt tool can register a new battery for our cars. If so, this is way cheaper the what the dealer is asking, $400.00!

Yes, the BT Tool performs this function. And yes, you can buy a battery and BT tool and still beat the dealer price. And you will have a tool that you can use for other repairs and services.

When I emailed the BT tech. in the beginning of this year regarding to this "register new battery" function, I was told that BT could not do it. Now, I am confused.

Thanks for the picture. From the picture, it showed the the command for 2006 - 2008 E60. My car is 2005 E60. Maybe that's why it does not support this command ?

If you ask me.. It is a command. If it's not recognized, it won't do anything so just try it

"Try it" means I have to buy this BT tool (quite expensive) and it may not work for my model year

Do you guys know if it will properly register a 110AH battery if the car originally came with a 90AH battery?
