i have got my hands on a set of m5 leather seats which are fully electric with memory, i have plugged them into my car however nothing works,

I am thinking about doing the same putting in a M5 interior. But everybody is telling me that it cant be done, since there is missing a K_bus signal for the seat in the centerconsole.
I have an LCI, I will follow this post.
Gl with the change, please keep us posted.

Member 'gwade' is doing this exact retrofit now. Maybe we can coerce him into sharing some of the knowledge. There is definitely more wiring to be done and it also involves pt-can.

Yes, Ive been going through spaghetticoder.com to get the wiring figured out.
My car can already run deluxe premium heated seats so I just need the "active backrest adjustment" wiring.
You'll need to study the diagrams for your car specifically as BMW uses two generations of wiring at 9/2005
In my case, I need to wire the PT-CAN (twisted blue and red)in and out from the SGM (safety gateway module) to the seats as well as power from fusebox #32 & #34, ground connections, and the wakeup signal from terminal 13 behind the fusebox.
My car already has the K-CAN (twisted yellow and black). Your car sounds like you might need to wire that which means you'll need to look up the wiring from K-CAN (twisted yellow and black) from behind the fusebox to the center console switch, and then down to the seats.
I get pretty deep with these retrofits and wire everything like factory so Ive ordered the correct TLX 14 and 20 gauge wiring as well as the factory connectors to go properly into the fusebox and the seat connectors.
In order to do it right, the dash, console, and carpet need to come up so that I can access the seat harness and factory ground blocks which live at the base of the kick panels.
I also got very lucky in that the M seats I bought had the original harness plugs cut from the floor so that I could compare which wires the M seats need and which wires Im currently missing. Yes, there is a difference too between the right and left seats. Its a hairy job and Im glad I dont have to do the console switch stuff. Once I get it done and know for sure what Im talking about, Ill post the info.
