As a first time BMW owner, I must say, this place is "the bomb" to quote my son. I've had the car about a month now and I'm looking to give it a nice polish or waxing. I was wondering if the resident experts here have any reccomendations regarding a polish or wax that will do the best job of keeping my car looking top notch. Does BMW itself endorse any particular product. I know its a mundane question, but any direction is appreciated!

This is an area with many many opinions, and zealous advocates for each of them. Zaino seems to be the most recommended product on this Board, but there are many excellent choices.

Congratulations on your first BMW and welcome to the forum. Let us know some details on your car.
If you check out the Detailing Forum you will find plenty of information on waxes! Zaino seems to be the most popular. I have been using Zymol for seven years now and I am very pleased with the results.
Good luck!

No one else commented on my post concerning Hi-Temp carnuba wax, but I used it and found it to be an excellent product. Mirror smooth finish and relatively easy to buff out.

welcome vector...
through the years, i've tried everything you can get retail (mothers, turtle wax, meguiar's, et al), along with zaino, zymol, pinnacle, and other higher end products.
since i don't have the time to devote 4hr wash/detail jobs anymore on my cars, i've started to use this product called "hydro" which is popular on the mini cooper forum's. it's one of those spray on type of waxes that you apply while drying the car. the results are great. After washing, just spray it on and wipe off. You can even use it on plastic, chrome, and glass. A bottle will cost you about $13.

to me, auto paint is so good these days that any product off the shelf should yield good results. any type of wax, be it synthetic or natural is better than none at all.
good luck.
