My question is: is it possible to make my angel eyes my daylight lights such as newer models of e60s (I drive a 2006 530xi with HID lights). Currently my day lights are my H7s, but i would much rather have it be the angel eyes. The only time my angel eyes are on is when the night lights are on and it takes the coolness of my angel eye upgrade. Also note: Buying new headlights are not an option!

i wondered if the dealer could program the h7 bulbs off and activate the angel eyes, or the parking lights like the newer cars.

It can be done but you probably have to wire hack it ... since your current H7 DRL did not use the full 12v (probably only at 60%-80%) so you have to somehow drive it to a relay (that will power on using less than 12v) and tap it to the AE but as you already know the brightness of pre-LCI AE is not very visible during the day due to it wasn't designed to be use as a DRL like the newer LCI.

Yes but the dealer didn't tell me anything ... In my car I have option in iDrive to do it myself but seems to be car before MY07 (especially w/ Nav) may need the dealer to turn the DRL on/off. It's just logic speaking since pre-LCI AE was not visible during the day 'cuz was not design to be a DRL ... it's more of ARL since become more visible later on the day And if you see the SSS station (BMW programming) there's is no option to pick which light for the DRL.

Of course feel free to check w/ your dealer to find out yourself.

I have been debating on this myself. I just bought 6500k upgrades for the AE lights and wanted to have them on all the time. In my '05 the dealer has to program the DRL feature. I will look into the wiring to see if there is a convenient way to tap in to the headlight relay to have it only activated at night while the AE are on all the time. I'll let you know what I find.
