Hi all,
Silly question , but how does one remove the engine bay covers? The one that covers the motor with the big BMW logo on it. Additionaly, could someone advise what software & Hardware that can be used on servicing my W Reg 2000 328i Tour & This new 06 520d motor. . I am up to my ears in fustration with BMW's day to day charges & Customer service! I plan to go there now, ONLY when l really have to!
Thanks in advance.

Each engine has a slightly different "acoustic cover" but I think most of them are removed in a similar fashion by pressing down on the buttons that cause the clips holding it down to release.
On the directions I posted, it mentions removing the tension strut (and the microfilter housing) since they look like their blocking access to the part of the cover nearest the firewall. I've never removed the cover from a 520d but I'm quite surprised that so much needs to be removed just to get it off.
These preliminary tasks sort of open a can of worms since each of them has additional preliminary tasks listed. If you run into any big trouble and can't figure things out, let me know...
