545i Oil drain plug and Oil filter canister

I've done searches but could not find a DIY specific to 545i. Anyone have a pic of where the drain bolt and Oil filter canister is on the 545i?? Thanks in advance.

Here you go. I got these pics from a member mehall2. If you need info on how to do it go here http://forums.e60.net/index.php?showtopic=...amp;#entry98908. Let me know if you need more help. Have fun. Peace. BTW the drain plug is EXREMELY tight as well as the oil filter housing drain plug.

Thanks alot.....I just got done doing the oil change...piece of cake. The drain bolt and the filter canister was really tight. I appreciate the pics...they made the job alot easier.

I was thinking I was an idiot or something. Thanks for the pics, it's going to make my oil change job a lot easier. Just got my bimmer and don't really know the layout of the engine. Couldn't find the filter, but with the pics, it'll be a snap.

No problemo. Just drop that hatch and everything you need to work on is all there.

Does anyone happen to know what size the filter socket needs to be? I have up to a 22mm and it's still too small and I'm going to have to go buy one that fits.

24mm. You can see the socket size if you zoom in on the socket.

I bought Castrol full synthetic 5W-30, 9 bottles(but used 8-1/2). Mobil One is OK too .
I didn't bother with the oil canister drain plug.
