Default 545 6MT Fluid Change

Does anyone have link to DIY on how to change the transmission fluid in a 545 or 550 6MT I assume they would be the same. Im going to try this for the first time and I would like something detailed with pictures. I've already found one for the Diff no luck on the transmission tho.... Thank You

I did mine a few weeks ago (on a 535 - not sure which gearbox you have). Although this is for a 135, the procedure is much like the following: Changing Transmission Fluid in the 135i
The most difficult part is removing and reinstalling the plastic underbody (must be close to 15 screws). Make sure your car is level when re-filling, otherwise the fluid level may be incorrect. It takes a bit less than 2 quarts (1.6 or so)

If your transmission is the same as mine - and I think it is - it takes 1.7 quarts. I use RedLine MTL, which is a bit thicker than the RedLine D6 ATF in the DIY. The ATF will shift smoother when it's cold, which may be a consideration for you on the east coast. MTL is probably a better lube for transmission lifetime, although that's just what would make sense to me. I have no data.

Thank You that's seems easy enough I thought it would be something simple as this. Does the fluid have to be warm before the drain?...

Yea it's the same I mean mine is 6MT but SMG is the same thing without a clutch pedal, lol... I was going to try the Redline I've heard good things about it. Was your car just like the link above is there anything different that you might want to add? Also can I re-use the drain and fill bolts? The DIY I have on the Diff suggest I changed the bolts.
