There must be a failure in the pic or discription; my car is build with fold-down seats and is exactly like the pic abouve. I have lighter in the trunk and the green with white stripes wire at the place that is marked as "rear 12V" but it?s the trunk 12V.
In the description you write; if you want the exactly colour you need green with withe stripes. But I have already this in my car. So I guess that green/white belongs to the 12V lighters in the trunk.
Now what?s the original color for the rear 12V?
Confused...

if you have trunk 12v or rear 12v they will both be green/white side by side connection as photos some use conection transposed dependant on country.
so use a new cable green /white also for either trunk or rear outlet 12v

harry i have just checked your car year is it 2004 ,the pictures posted here are for 2006/7 mopdel there is a difference in the trunk control panel placement of wiring.
please post a photograph of your control panel and i will show you were to connect for that model panel.

Bruce, did you find any "unidentified" or missing parts in this installation?
(Sorry Bruce, I couldn't resist to comment)

Infact I did Because I did the Aux extension and this together I found the part hanging in my glovebox as in http://forums.e60.net/index.php?showtopic=36818

Edit:

My car looks different, has only two places for plugs.

Fixed it myself

so to get this straight.putting ur phone in the craddle and doing this DIY, you can listen to music from ur HTC on the car speakers and receive calls through the speakers?so this is better then bluetooth?

This could do that but how do you propose getting the Mic connected? If you have Aux you could simply buy a A2DP connector and installed that in the Aux with the Mic somewhere around you. Or get the Dension with the bluetooth attachment or get the Parrot with the CAN interface.

hmmm.i dont have an Aux neither.and the dension is kind of out of my price range.oufff this is soo confusing.

Thx for answering my questions bruce, really appreciate it.

just one last question. I dont have a mic. But my car production is a 09/04, so im going to check my TCU if it is the right TCU for bluetooth. If it is the correct one, wht can i do to get the bluetooth.just a mic install and bluetooth upgrade? or must add something else?

if i have the correct TCU, can i just do a software upgrade and use my HTC mic?

sorry for all those questions, but im only a newbie at this and just want the advice of a pro.

thx a lot bruce, totally appreciate ur help. ill be so happy to if i get to get the BT on my idrive.appreciate it
