Default [E60 520i 2003/08] Changing vin number of light module (xenon)

I am retrofitting Xenon into my 520i 2003/08 but I have to change the VIN number of my purchased (second hand xenon) light module to match my car's vin.

I'm relatively familiar with NCSexpert but not at all with Winkfp or Tool32.

So the question is how do I change the vin number of the light module?

Thanks.

It's a good thing this great forum have a wonderful search function that you may want to try next time ... in the mean time take a look the following thread:

https://5series.net/forums/e60-discu...m1-lm2-115903/ -- The portion on how to us WinFKP in the thread is what you want to follow.

AFAIK, if you retrofitting Xenon you don't need to upgrade LM changing VO/FA and re-coding should do the trick, unless you are doing pre-LCI -> LCI lights conversion or going all the way w/ HL Adaptive function.

Thanks for you reply.

I'm installing pre-LCI xenon headlights.

So by adding $522 (XENONLICHT) to my VO/FA and recoding it will do the trick?

going off memory here, but that sounds right. also have to make sure your light module is compatible.

Yes just add $522 to VO/FA, I did a full conversion from pre-LCI Halogen -> LCI Bi-Xenon but w/o Adaptive function.

Aside from standard Halogen -> Xenon conversion such re-wiring on the LM & the head lights I did not change my LM (Already came w/ LM2).
