My wife wants to use a Turtlewax Duster between washings on her brand new car. I am leery of using anything on a dry shiny surface, and asked her to wait until we hear from the experts.
We leased a Prius IV for her and it is pretty cool.

I would be very careful so as not to introduce scratches or micromarring into the paint's finish. Some people will use the California Car Duster to lightly wipe away dust particles or pollen between washes. But I would highly advise against dragging anything dry across a "dirty" car. Depending on the type and color of the paint, the results may vary. Maybe some quick detailer spray and clean mirofiber towels might be a better way to go. Just my 2 cents.

Scratches are inevitable no matter what you use. Even microfiber towels cause extremely light swirl marks. I would use it on a light colored car, but not dark.

I would definately not use it. Why risk causing scratches? Of course since the car is leased it might not matter as much.

Used properly, the california duster, contrary to popular belief, will not scratch your paint. If you do not use any pressure and lightly go over the paint with the C.D. you can get the desired effect with minimal damage. Honest!

Big time Wrong way

Right way

I agree. I use a duster only to remove dust and pollen, after which I wipe her down with Zaino Detail spray and a microfiber towel. If she's dirtier than that, then she's washed.
