Bad karma...don't do it.

How are your wiper inserts...streaking you say? Take it in to the dealer to have 'em replaced...chances are, they'll do a wash for you as well.

I don't use a automatic carwash, because from my experience it scratches the paint.

So I use a high pressure water to clean all the car, and the I handwash it.. 3 weeks since last wash :'( Bad weather !

Hand wash in the nice weather when the 20's are on the car. Touchless High Tech car wash just a few times during the winter with the stock 18's on the car. Find a quality car wash. You'll pay $20 - $30 but keep in mind, you get what you pay for. If you pay $10. Don't expect a $30 job. Silver grey allows me to get away with 3 or 4 washes the whole winter. It's a weekly thing when the nice wheels go on the car. I guess it's all about the wheels. Never really thought about it like that.

If it wasn't clear before, I don't really appreciate you talking to me in such manner. Cut it off.

I'm not sure if you remember writing this:

"I'm a new member here, but I think its a fantastic and friendly forum.
You make good points, but at the same time, you can not restrict freedom of speech, and other's opinions may be different from yours. Plus, not every owner is fascinated with the car - the ones having problems don't post in the best of moods. The forum should be moderated to remain civil. And this requires a lot of work and dedicated group of moderators. I don't know if we have such a team here"

I do not intend to offend you or anyone else. I also happen to agree with you that civility and freedom of speech are important.

I don't know you and you don't know me. There is no need for anyone to be rude or unfriendly.

I was definately joking, but from his reply it seems as if texaz3 wasn't.

This is all fair enough, each to their own, but there is no need for anyone to get upset

Some people take certain things more seriously than others, fortunately EVERYONE is different AND we can all get along (if we want).

Will I be safe takign my car to a brushless car wash. Should I just measure out the wheel diameter? Anyone else with 530i sport wheels use a car wash, or do you handwash. It's 10 degrees out there now, so I am thinking i'll just keep the car dirty rather than scuff the wheel.

thanks

JK
I've been told by the BMW dealership that if you have an XI, the control arms sit lower and they get worn from the conveyor in these car washes. You'll wind up needing to replace them.
