I recently picked up an 07 550i in monacco blue. I noticed today that for the regular front bumper style, the area inside the front bumper dam is painted the same color as the car but with no clear coat and it is textured instead of polished smooth. at first i thought that this was odd so i dropped by a bmw dealer by my home and looked at their inventory cars and all of them are like this. my question is would it be wise to use the same wax used for the rest of the car for this area. i just ordered zaino and i remember the kit i got had the clearcoat wax and i believe non clearcoat wax is another product. what have people done with this area. just leave it as it is just wash and dry, use the same wax or do i need something different. thanks for any input

Glad you joined us.

I would say go ahead and lay on some Zaino. That area needs protection just like every other surface.

Yeah, I wax everything that has paint on it..... All the painted parts SHOULD have clear coat on it, but I'll check it on my car to see if I can find what you're talking about.
