New car comes in hopefully this week. Want to detail it first thing but the temperature had dropped. I have a gargae with hold/cold water and a drain. The temp does get down in the 40's in the garage. Am I still safe to try, or do I have to let someone else do it? Don't think I can fit the car in the house to keep it warm (or I would)

I think cooI/cold car surface temps are much better than warm surfaces for waxing.

I agree that cool temps are better than hot (never wash or wax the car when the surface is hot, or wax in direct sunlight), but if you're using carnauba wax, you need to allow the wax to bond with the paint and too cold would be a problem. Some people actually apply the wax with their finger tips only, as your body heat helps melt the wax--give that a try. And if you have a space heater, put it in the garage to warm it a bit.
