The Volvo has been released from its misery .
The owner had crashed it last weekend and it was totalled...
Good news are that no one was hurt.

Good to know no one was hurt, but it should be expected - it's a Volvo afterall and safety is their game. Tell them to get a 5er (E61) to replace it

Actually the owner's son (I've been dealing with him) already asked me at what price I'd sell my e60 to his dad!
Make him get his own!!! Yours looks great

What s this? I can see it says paint detecting on it, but what does it do? Ive seen it in a few pictures but never really understood what it is.
Btw, car looks great! I wish I had the time and patience to detail my car...Its too dusty here to make it really worth it...

My Ride: I have an 05 545i. It's a manual with a few options. This is my first BMW but I don't know how I'll ever be able to switch to something else.
It's a paint depth meter. It's used to measure the thickness of your clearcoat, to make sure you don't "burn" a spot with a PC or rotary.

Yes. Actually mine is Paint Detective 8, a very cheap one. It can't separate the paint layers; base coat, color and clearcoat. It gives the overall thickness, and the most useful information would be the thickness of a clearcoat. But even the overall information gives a lot when planning the polishing job
Thanks for the info!
