Thanks for the welcome. This is clearly the best BMW Forum.

I have been driving my E60 since the end of May and enjoy it more all the time. It replaced an E39 525i and I must say that as good as that car was, the E60 is superior in every way.

Any of you see an oily substance run off from the trunk area? It was a hot day here recently and there was this trickle of oily sunstance coming out from the trunk latch. It was strange. It wiped off, but it seemed to be caused by the heat or something.

Put a little wax on the sill and it makes cleaning easier.

Those stains are murder next to the brake dust. I have silver-grey, but can only imagine how ugly these stains are on a white or titanium silver finish. They don't clean so easy compared to the rest of the rocker panel. A less careful person may end up with permanent discoloration at these points. Is the door sill construction so different from other body styles? Do other body styles have this type of stain?

Does anyone else have watermarks underneath the door sills from rain run-off? The main ones are situated at the bottom of the seam of the drivers door (at the B pillar).

They are damn difficult to remove too.

I'm probably not explaining it too well, so I'll try to get out and take pics later.
browellm, could you post a picture when convenient? I don't believe I have had this problem.
