Is getting Touch of Class protection done on my new car worth it? It's a permanent clear polymer treatment applied to the paint and leather to protect the surfaces from scratches and spills. About $1100.

I think not. Your new car will have a finish that will last years with proper care. Occasional detail should be more than enough. Spend the $1100 elsewhere.

Snake oil

Don't waste your money. Keep the car clean and waxed and it'll look great.

I don't think so... Did that to my last car... it hold about the same as a good wax..

Spend $400-$500 wisely on a full front clear bra kit.

$1,100--that's the most I've ever heard for those bogus treatments!

This is snake oil at its best. What ever happened to undercoating...I forgot to get that when I bought my car...

There's no such thing as a permanent coating. If it's a polymer coating you want (not that I think it's the way to go) get yourself a bottle of RejeX for $20. For the leather, another $15 for Lexol should do it.

Many thanks for the replies... what a great community this is. I think I need to learn how to detail my own cars now... how often, with what, and in what order.

Merzbow-
I got A Touch of Class on my Lexus, which cost me $300.
They even gave me a second application kit, which I still have. It's warranty covers you for life as long as you still own the vehicle.
It's paint protector does an excellent job of protecting from bird droppings.
