I know there are tree sap removal sprays and what not that you can pick up at the local auto parts store but does anyone have any specific recommendations or how-to's on how to properly get the sap off of my car? I had a decent size drop on my hood I was planning to remove then forgot about it and washed my car then bam, it was smeared all over my hood. Argh!

I used the BMW tree sap remover and it works fine, maybe some of the people can chime in on what they use beside BMW product line.

honda polish for motorcycles will clean just about anything off, and easily at that. it's about $7-$8 a can at motorcycle dealerships. it's an unreal product and you'd be amazed at what it removes!

the maker doesn't call it honda polish anymore, but if you just ask for it they know exactly what you're talking about. the can looks like this:

yes, it removes chain wax, tar, other crap from the road that has been baking on exhaust pipes. i have used it for just about everything from removing decals, to cleaning wheels, to removing grime, to removing sap, to just polishing in general. it's the best stuff out there imo.

It also makes a good water repellant! Swear by it for years. I use it to clean bugs and grime off everything from my motorcycles to autos.
Used to be called "Honda Cleaner" in the bike world. -Magic in a can!
