Guys,
I was thinking to get my engine High pressure steam. so, I asked BMW technician via e-mail.
and this is his answers:
"High pressure steam cleaners can do more damage then
just using a wash mit and some good soap. Next time
you are in for service, ask the service writer if you
can get your engine compartment cleaned up if you do
not want to."
What you guys think about it?
Even the BMW dealer itself does not dare to do it..

Pressure washing can force water into places it wasn't intended to go such as electrical connections. The ensuing corrosion can cause electrical faults that would be expensive to repair. I'd let the engine cool, then use warm water soap and a low pressure hose to rinse.

There is absolutely no need for a high pressure steam clean on a newer car.. Your technician is right, it will do more damage than good....If you want a clean engine, just hose down with water, use a neutral degreaser (something without harsh chemicals), scrub, dry and apply your favorite top coat (i.e., 303 Aerospace, etc.)
