I used this today and I have to say it was perfect, its a little pricey but IMO its worth it. Having a black car and washing it at home about twice a week I needed to find a way to eliminate a process. This didnt leave not even one spot. http://crspotless.com/

how often do you replace the resin and how much
Thus, at ~$16 a pop you get 3-4 washes. Not a bad proposition at $4/wash, assuming you are comfortable with the ~$300 initial investment.

I was amazed that yes it drip dried on my jet black car, and not one spot. The unit costs 189.95 + shipping, around two hundread bucks. The two filters give you 100 gallons of water. I rinsed the soap off my car with regular water, and then did a final rinse with this, I probably used about two gallons, so I should get about 50 washes from the filters. Replacement filters cost 16.87 x 2= 33.75 (w/ shipping). So thats .67 cents per wash!!!! I will also use this to wash upper windows on my house. Next time I will post pics during the process for everyone to see.

Last year we had a domestic water softener installed.
I made a point of getting a dual soft/hard water link to the outside so I could use soft water to wash the car if I chose.
Using softwater makes a huge difference, the paint shines better and dries with hardly a mark.
Hopefully the miniscule amount of sodium left in the water will not make my baby fall to bits with rust !
