They work very well. If you will notice the residual mud on the garage floor from the wash job (most got rinsed away) you can see that they stop it very well. Most of the mud I got into was on the other side where there was a good bit. None on the paint.

As far as appearance goes, you may judge for yourself since there is broadside picture in Lomag's gallery and a shot where you can see the rear flap closer.

My car wash, although a very good one that doesn't harm the car too much, uses some sort of wheel cleaner that causes the calipers to lose the silver paint finish fairly quickly.

Since my dealer also uses some harsh wheel cleaners, they repaint things every once in a while for me.

Right now, one of my rear calipers is completely rusted -- unfortunately I don't have the time to wash the car myself enough so that's the price I have to pay for keeping my car clean the easy way.

I certainly understand, Rudy. I worked for a living one time myself. :'(

After thinking about your situation, I realized that sometimes I have used a wheel cleaner. With the 540, someone in the dealer service department recommended using Formula 2001, so I have when I accumulate more than I want to just rinse off. Formula 2001 contains no acids and is biodegradable. I buy it at AutoZone, but rarely use it.

I have a huge bottle of P21S (the best stuff) for when I wash the car myself. The problem is that never seems to happen...

Hey JDN, if you fancy moonlighting as a photographer for BMW's new cars I think they'd have you. Great pics

I was thinking of taking something like that for your car wash folks, Rudy. Tell'em to treat your baby kindly.

I agree, it's always amazing to me how many people simply snap pictures in the driveway or somewhere unflattering.

Aren't we all looking for an excuse to drive somewhere?

Nice pic JDN!
