Removing adhesive residue

I finally got around to removing the sticker full of legalese that BMW helpfully placed on the upper left hand side of my windshield, only to discover that there's quite a bit of adhesive residue left. I'd appreciate any tips on how to remove this residue effectively.

Best stuff I've found is White gasoline = Naptha = Ronson lighter fluid. Works on most anything and won't harm (most) surfaces. Denatured alcohol works good also.
