My car is Jet black, so my situation is terrible. What I found that works well for me is to bust out the pressure washer and blast it away. The hard water spots are always a concern, but i'd rather deal with that then the yellow ugliness.
I feel your pain "moschse" nothing worse to waking up and seeing your black car covered in Pollen! I ordered the California duster hopefully it helps!

Just a hint: Before you use your CA Duster for the very first time, wrap it in newspaper for a couple of days. This will soak up the excess "oil/wax/stuff" that is coated on the duster. IMHO, these dusters come with too much of this "stuff" when brand new, and from my experience, this "stuff" will leave streaks if your do not let newspaper (or paper towels, etc...) soak off the excess.

My experience is primarily with my Cobra replica, which NEVER sees water. I dust it regularly with a CA Duster (been doing that for 7+ years), and for spots and such, I go over the car with detail spray (I'm a Zaino fan) and an MF towel. My daily driver sees water when dirty.

Another solution is to blow off the pollen with compressed air...

WRT using water, I use soft water to help decrease the occurances of hard water spots...

Good luck,
Randy...

Great thought Cobra.

Bad news is mine is a couple years old and all the oil soaked up all the pollen!
