I give it the same treatment that I give the paint except more often because it gets scrubbed more from bug cleaning.

I highly recommend the clear urethane headlight shield (pre-cut). Peel and stick application, and 40 mil thick to protect the plastic headlight lenses from road debris and yet hardly noticeable. I much rather replace these than the expensive light assemblies. Just my $0.02.
