I wax my hood but for some reason not my bumpers/lights. I'll do that next time.

I highly recommend the clear urethane headlight shield (pre-cut). Peel and stick application, and 40 mil thick to protect the plastic headlight lenses from road debris and yet hardly noticeable. I much rather replace these than the expensive light assemblies. Just my $0.02.
