for waxing recommendations and to see what most people use and the finishing result, check out the detailing forum. i know most people will recommend zaino, rejex, and meguiars for wax.

That color combo should be great looking.

If your dealer does a good job preparing your car, you won't have to wax it for a couple of months. With black, the less you touch it the better ... fewer swirls or scratches.
I say just enjoy driving the new car for a few months and then give it a full detail. I'm a Zaino fan.
How about some pics?

You shouldn't wait at all. The paintwork on a factory sprayed BMW is ready to be waxed. It's another thing if you need to respray part of the car, due to say a parking accident. Then you need to wait at least 6 months.
Also, on such?an expensive car I recommend professional polishing/waxing.

I took delivery Monday of this week. The car has 100 miles on it.
I was driving home yesterday and a bird with an upset stomach dropped a trophy load on the windshield. This must have been a condor due to the length and width of the strike. Some splattered onto the top of the car. I washed it off within 30 minutes, but it still left some etch marks in the paint.
Will Zaino get this out???

Try any kind of mild polish to remove that. Zaino's Z-PC Fusion Dual Action Paint Cleaner Swirl Remover is perfect for those kind of hits. It may take several passes to cut it down. If that doesn't work, you will need to jump up to a compound ... more abbrassive. Make sure to apply more wax over that area again.

Get the Ultimate Car Kit package from Zaino and their new All-in-One. Like Tachyon, I'm a huge Zaino fan. I was formerly a Rejex user, but Zaino blows it away.
One other thing...make sure you are using micro-fiber towels to clean your car and never wash these towels with fabric softner, both in the wash or in the dryer. The residue will cause fine swirl marks when drying. Wash your towels with tide or All, throw them in the dryer, pull them out while they're still a little damp and let them air dry.
Congrats on the car! Now where are those pix????

Your car is ready to wax straight off of the trucks. By the time the car gets done with final production and onto the boat, shipped across the water and unloaded it's nearly 2 months of curing. BMW does coat the car with some type of oil/grease which after unloading at Oxnard gets washed off. Then upon delivery at your dealership your car will go thru another car wash and a quick wax so you should be good to go. After that once a week wash n wax should keep your car looking nice.
