My new Range Rover Sport is much harder to clean than my e60. It is a darker color and much bigger. Here is florida the water dries and leaves spots before I have the chance to dry off the water. This happens even if i do the car in sections. Does the Auto-Dry car wash really work and not cause water spots? I, of course, would use a microfiber mitten to spread the soap around and give it a good wash. Does the water filter really work well enough and not cause spots?

i haven't used the auto-dry system but my friend did. his car didn't look good at all after he used it. in fact, it looked pretty bad...especially the windows :'(. you may want to buy a leaf blower to dry the car .

what i normally do is hose the car down every few minutes while i'm cleaning the dirty wheels. also do the same while i'm wiping one side of the car (hose down the other side). make sure the car remains wet.

Mr. Clean works well for me on my 545i, and Phoenix has terribly spotty water. But, I have yet to try it on my black Z06. I am hoping though. As above, I keep rinsing until the end. Leaf blower doesn't work well enough on the Z06. Maybe an air compressor would work better, but I haven't tried one. Dark cars are very painful.

I've had excellent success here in Central Fla with Mr. Clean. Start with wheels, get them all done then do rest of car as quickly as possible. Make sure I work top down. Today did my wife?s Bright Red Cabrio and my SG 6er at same time. No spots and minimal toweling - three little spots on 6er & 2 on A4. I change the filter every 6 washes, never wash in direct sunlight - easy for me under old Oaks and if possible do at the windiest time of day (substitute for leaf blower )

In over 20 washes on the 6er I have had just two occasions where it spotted where I had to towel the whole car. I believe those were where I violated my rules on sun and perhaps had let filter go longer than 6 washes.
