You can rejex over the wax. That is perfectly fine. It will just not last as long and will break-down with the normal wear down of the wax itself. Instead of 3-4 months of rejex protection you get maybe 2 months. Then you apply your rejex again.?

Ya cool. I'm not going to worry too much then.

Where, in the UK, can you get it from? Is it a Halfrauds job?

hope it diminishes some of the swirls the dealer put on the carbon black finish he fobbed me off "water based paints do that" he said. rubbish ....dirty cloths removing the transport wax is my thoughts... so going to try and use a power mop on car before i apply the rejex. maybe test a panel tommorrow.

Radioham.

I have the same color as you and I also had the swirls and holograms in my paint. Dealers are usually worthless when it comes down to cleaning a car. They just don't seem to care for some reason if they fuck up somebody's expensive car.

My detailer reads this board and he will register himself soon so he can give people online advice. So from here, this will be his post:

---------------------------------------------------------------
Hi Radioham,

If you want to really get rid of them (not fill them) do the following;

No sealant will hide swirl marks. The powermop you will have won't do the trick. You need to use a porter cable polisher (dual action) which are also for sale on autogeek.net. You will need a 110-230v power converter for the electricy network, 500 Watt +.

List of products:
110-230v power converter (look in a store near you)

Portable polisher: http://www.autogeek.net/poca746varap.html
Dual-Action 6.5" White Polishing Pad (2 pads!) : http://www.autogeek.net/vcpad.html
Drying towels for after wash, 2 of them. You can machine wash these towels: http://www.autogeek.net/cobwafmictow.html
3 microfiber wipes for wiping off the polish residue: http://www.autogeek.net/pincobdetclo.html
Microfiber applicator pack for applying sealants or polish : http://www.autogeek.net/cbp100.html
High quality sponge (order 3): http://www.autogeek.net/x3030.html

Meguiar?s #80 Professional Speed Glaze : http://www.autogeek.net/mg80.html
Meguiars ScratchX: http://www.autogeek.net/megscratxfin.html
Meguiars #83 DACP: http://www.autogeek.net/megdualaccle.html
Zaino Z2 showcar polish: https://vault1.secured-url.com/car/products.asp?cat=11
Zaino Z7 car wash: https://vault1.secured-url.com/car/products.asp?cat=11
Meguiars wheel cleaner: http://www.autogeek.net/meg36wheelcl.html

Yes, so there are 2 orders you will need to make.

Now, we start talking about the process:

First, you want a car that is absolutely dirt particle free before you start applying the polishers (and this is exactly where the dealer made the mistake by removing factory wax on a dirty car with probably dirty clothes).

Always use plenty of water and rinse often to avoid marring the paint.

Fill 2 buckets with water and add 7-10 caps of Zaino Z7 carwash into each bucket.
Get the meguiars sponge out of the package and put it in the bucket.
Try to rinse of as much dirt as possible before you start actually washing the car with your sponge. Start on the roof, then walk around the car to do the other side of the roof, wash the rear window + the bootlid Then the side windows and mirrors. Then the hood. Now rinse everything off. Now do the rear trunk. Next are the upper side panels, rinse. Now do the front spoiler and let it soak if you got some bugs there. Lower side panels, rinse. Done with the paintwork.

Full a new bucket with water + 4 caps of Zaino Z7 and spray the rear wheels in with the wheel cleaner. Get some small sponge from your local store to clean the wheels.
Once you are done with the rear wheels. do the front wheels.

Now your car should be very very clean already. If your car was very dirty, you can repeat the process to wash the car.Whenever you finish washing a car and everything's done; rinse the sponge in a bucket of water and always replace the sponge when it starts to look grey and grimey. 3 sponges will last you about a year. I recommend washing your car once a week, especially if you drive it a lot through rain.

Dry the car by blotting with the Waffle weaven Microfiber drying towels you bought. These towels will hold a lot of water (up to 9 times their own weight) , and you can always wring them out and blot some more.

Your car is ready for polishing now. Since the car is new, claying is not necessary.

Depending on the severity of your swirl marks, please first do a test: Start with applying the Meguiar's #80 on your white polishing pad which is attached to the porter cable polisher. Do not add too much polish, and press the pad a couple of times on your paint so the polish is spread. You don't want to have this splatter all around. Work the polish slowly until it is almost and don't add to much pressure on the machine. Then, grab a microfiber wipe and wipe off the polish residue.

Now you inspect the paint work: Are the swirls still there? If yes; grab the new white polishing pad and attach it to the power cable polisher. Now you grab Meguiars ScratchX and repeat the process. The reason you do not just use the pad you used #80 on is because you want to avoid polish mixing.
ScratchX will probably get everything out, but if not, wash the white polishing pads pad in warm water with some woolite and try later on the day with Meguiars DACP.

IF you need to use DACP, I recommend the following. After the DACP process, follow up with #80 again. That will even give a better finish.

Allright. Now you've probably gotten all swirls / holograms out of your paint. Now you want to protect that finish with a high quality sealant. I really strongly advice to use Zaino Z2 for this. Rejex is lasts not as long and the Zaino process is easy if not more easy to do than the Rejex.

When applying a sealant, do this with a microfiber applicator pad (the blue ones). Very thin coats are the key. A small bit of sealant goes a long way. You need to do it so that the sealant will start to streak on the paint. Thick layers will go off harder and you are only wasting polish here. Do the whole car in thin layers and let it sit for 1 hour. Now wipe it off and your car will look astounding.

Black is a very hard color to maintain and keep scratch free, but I think it's absoluitely worth it. On silver cars you definately have less issues. But thats the price you have to pay for picking carbon black (or any black / dark blue).

I would really be interested how this works out for you. Keep me posted about this. The products it will cost you a bit of money but the result will be priceless, and most of the products (except the carwash + wheel cleaner) will last years.

Best regards,

Your professional detailer on steriods.
