Ok it looks nice. It looks aggressive. It's big. But cleaning it a pain.

Just the spokes are not enough, and I have to put a sponge into the plenum space between the brakes and the rims and still can't clean the entire breadth of the rims. After which I found that the groove on the spokes itself can't be reached using the cleaning sponge. So I have to use a chopstick with a cloth to run the groove and get the dirt.

Then I realised that simply because its hyper silver, its exceptionally obvious if the rims aren't wiped down after washing leaving water marks. And I have a tyre spray for blacking out the tires. It can't be used anymore as I can't be that precise enough to just spray on a 30' profile tyre without spraying on the rims againg. And thus another round of wipedown.

In short, short of waxing it or polishing it, it takes up all the attention now, more than the paint work of the car.

Is this how you people do it?

By the way, I love the rims, just wondering if this is what everyone goes through silently.... I have never put that much detail on the rims because they have not been M166s...

I suspect it's ALL 166 and 172 owners actually. You can try brake pads that produce less dust. The dust factor played a part in m choice of wheels.

+1 for low dust brake pads, and invest in a good wheels brush :thumbsup:

haha ok. The trouble with these rims are that they are too big and now it looks like the way to go is get some colourful BBKs tp match... Another round of modding. One thing leads to another... :D

or you can try and find some M5 rotors :cool:

+1 on the M5 rotors, see member Rizbel's car - it looks sick, very nice!!! That is on my list of mods, much better brakes at 1/3 the price of a BBK - perfect!! :thumbsup:

Its so hard to find an M5 over here. Yes cross drilled and slotted would be sick! I love those rotors. Is this possible to upgrade the rotors first and change out the calipers to BBK later or it usually comes as a matched pair with rotors and calipers?

If we 100 523s on the roads, then there would be 30 525s on the roads, and 4 530s and lastly 1 x M5. 545s are rare here as well.

BBK's always come as a set because they are, well, bigger. The calipers are bigger, the rotors are bigger and the pads are bigger, so there is no way to use the stock rotors with the BBK ( kind of defeats the purpose anyway). Contact Nerweezy for the rotors and pads and you'll be happy.
