Venting out!

I need cars to be detailed! Now!
As the summer came my detailing spree is growing now and I'd love to get some cars to be washed, polished, waxed etc... Sure I could go and wash my E60, but hey, been there done that .

Anyone want to drive up here I'll do it for free damn it!

Antti,

My Porter Cable broke awhile back...now looking to get a different type of DA polisher. What brand would you recommend? I narrow it down to 2 brands, Griot and Meg but if you have any other, please let me know so I can look into it. Also, any particular brand of polish and sealant do you recommend for jet black and any brand of pads and what color should I go with. Haven't fully detailed my car in a long time and it seems like there are so many different brands out in the market now than before.

Any update on your sonar cable?

I can recommend the Flex XC 3401 VRG. Great machine; strong and effective.
I consider it like a DA for professionals.

I use Menzerna polishes. I've used Presta polishes too, but I think Menzerna is better. Presta products (especially harsher polishes) tend to dry up too fast. Difficult to say anything about the sealant, because there are so many great products on a market. However, if you like hard/paste type products, then definitely Finish Kare 1000P (FK 1000P).

Lake Country CCS pads are a way to go. Again, sure there are other brands too that are good, but I've notice that by using Lake Country pads, it is very easy to get help and tips on forums, because it's so widely used brand. The same thing is with the Menzerna. Visit www.detailingworld.co.uk, much more lively forum than autopia.org.

My cables are on the road at the moment, and they should be here next week. I decided to go with the cheaper 75£ solution after all, but it needs coding with the NCSExpert. Bruce made it easy to me and he has sent step-by-step instructions that I've followed. He does the actual coding or whatever he does with the file that I sent him, and I just have to feed the file back to car. I hope it works. I'm going to make a thread/review of it if everything goes well :).

Thought about the Flex too since it has more power but concern that since I'm only a novice with a DA and the flex, if not use correctly, can put a hole on my hood.

No no, you'll be definitely safe with the Flex. I started with Flex and never ran into problems with it!
Go for it man!
