I am absolutely cautious about not letting my car get any water spots from washing or parking where sprinklers could spray my car.

And until this week I have had no water spots.

Then on Thursday whilst out for lunch we had a 10 min rain shower after which the sun came out again.

I was with a client so there was nothing I could do - had to Ieave it to dry.

I assumed it would be safe, but...

Today I washed & waxed my car, & when I pulled it into the garage, under the flourescent lights, I could see water spots every where.

I am absolutely furious!
How can this happen?
If I end up with water spots every time I get caught in the rain, my car will look like s#*t.

I spend so much time looking after my paint, claying, polishing & waxing...

For what?!?!

I have the same problem.
Every time it rains and then the sun comes up.
Armor All Wash and Wax with Carnauba helps a lot, but not a total solution.
If the sun is hot and the rain dries fast, then the spots will be there again.

I hope this helps.

Nick,
What have you used to get rid of the spots?

I use de-ionised water with a little lime solution or lemon juice mixed (half a glass of water lime to a litre of de-ionised water). I leave it on 10 minutes to work (not in the sun, on cleaned before surface). It woks well on the insects too.
Then i wash the whole car with Armor All Wash and Wax with Carnauba.

I am busy trying Meguiar's Deep Crystal Paint Cleaner & it seems to be working!

Will update again later as the spots are only visible at very specific angles & certain light conditions.

OK I am once again impressed by the Meguiar's products. I know I am not even using their professional range of products, and there are a lot of other products that are "rated" more highly...
but the stuff really works well, and my local stores stock the full range of products.

I applied the Deep Crystal paint cleaner to 1ft by 1ft sections at a time with a Meg's foam applicator.
I wiped of with a MF cloth before it dried, and then repeated the process.

All the water spots were completely removed.

I then had to polish & wax the car.

I am of course still very concerned that rain can cause water spots. I am paranoid enough already as to where I park my car, and now I have to worry about rain too!?.
