Your not doing anything wrong...US models don't have the close feature...only the open feature, there is some stupid reason why.
thanks Krozi.. I was just about to go ouside and try this..

That sucks.. an auto close feature would be nice to have.

Yea it sucks...I think it has to do something with safety concerns or something...Merc has the open feature aswell, but also lacks the close feature...

for some of us less fortunate people who bought cars with the key rather than just the cool little remote, you can put the key in the door lock and hold it to the lock position and it will roll up windows, and close the sunroof. not as cool as just holding the lock button but its still useful

Yea that's right I forgot about that...you can do it with the key in the new style key fob also...however I find no need for it right now, considering the weather

The cool little remote, which I have, has one major drawback. Because the buttons are flush with the rest of the remote, if you put the remote in your pocket, it is pretty easy for something else in your pocket (wallet/keys/etc) to press against the button and, unbeknowst to you, open up all of your windows -- exposing the interior to the rain/snow, etc.

Yea I had that happen the first day I had the M3...I was installing the RPi scoops and when I leaned on the side of my leg the windows went down

Maybe that's why they are selling that nice "leather key pouch" LOL, for some god forsaken amount of $$.

I feel bad this tread is not very helpful to the water spot problem...
