The car:
Today I polished my friend's Honda CR-V 2006, Crystal Black Pearl. Few weeks ago I polished the same color HR-V, so I knew beforehand how it would be to work with. It was a 10 hour job as the owner was helping me.

Imperfections & Clearcoat:
The car was pretty scratchy. The usual swirl marks of course, but lots of deep horizontal scratches as well. This 4wd automobile was driven in its natural habitat, you see . The clearcoat was soft. So soft, that a microfiber cloth scratched it while removing the polish residuals. Sure the area was re-polished.

Pads and polishes:
Menzerna PO85RD 3.02 + Lake Country CCS orange pad used with a rotary was the choice. The right side of the car was polished twice with this combination, because the scratches were deeper on that side. The second (or third on the right side) pass was Britemax #4 Black Max + LC CCS white pad run with a DA.

LSP and others:
Black Max created the base and the FK1000P was used to give the surface a good protection. Meguiar's and AutoGlym were used to tires, plastics, rubbers and windows.

-----------------------------------------------------------------

The process

3) Claying

4) Polishing
- Menzerna PO85RD 3.02 + Lake Country CCS orange light cutting pad + FLEX PE14-2
- Britemax #4 Black Max+ Lake Country CCS white polishing pad + FLEX XC 3401 VRG

5) LSPs
- Britemax #4 Black Max
- Finish Kare 1000P

6) Others
Tires:
- Meguiar's Gold Class Endurance Tyre Gel

Windows:
- AutoGlym Fast Glass

Imperfections and polishing

Overall look after the wash:

After this 50/50 the right side was polished again to get rid of the last scratches:

After polishing, LSPs put

Awesome job.. The defects were looking pretty bad before your treatment! Are woods a natural habitat for Honda CR-V? I always thought of it as a city wanna-be-SUV for women

There always comes a time when a 4WD car has to prove its abilites, at least once in its lifetime .

FANTASTIC work Antti. Those scratches were bad, I didn't think you'd be able to make them completely disappear!!!
