I was giving my e60 it's first polish ever with Swissvax cleaning fluid when i accidently got a little on the ruber strip between the windscreen and the roof. Now there is a white mark that won't come off. Anyone done this before? Anyone got a way of getting it off? Also how do I avoid it in the future? Do you leave a little gap between the edge of the polish and rubber? See below (although you can't see much) crappy phone camera.

Try some rubber treatment product. I tape up all sensitive spots, like rubber seals.

Any good cleaning product/detergent - even rubbing alcohol - should remove it. Avoid getting it on the paint ... rewax when you're done and also apply a good rubber / vinyl treatment to the rubber seal.

That is terrible. I hope the world does not come to and end as a result of this.

You could also take a cue tip with some flat black paint and coat the rubber strip. Even the cheap Walmart spray can will work with the cue tip.

Try peanut butter... seriously.

Someone else (on www.detailparadise.com.au) suggested this. - So do I just smear it on the rubber and then wipe it off?

Peanut Butter? Ok how about some Jelly too? Now I am just kidding guys, but peanut butter sounds far fetch to me, but who knows? I got some wax on my black pieces also, and I have found nothing yet to remove it without possibly damaging the BLACK plastic finish even more, but I am looking...and will report in toe the forum if I find something that works!!!
