Looks wonderful. You did a great job getting rid of those pesky water spot and swirl marks!

Looks great - good effort. But, yah, next time sealant after polish.

Looks good, but you should have done the sealant after the polish. Polish should always come after you clay/rinse. This way, there's no barrier between the polishing agent and the paint finish/clear coat.

My process:
1. Wash
2. Clay (man was it dirty!)
3. Wash/Dry
4. Tape off trims
5. Sealant
6. Polish
7. Wax

Thanks for the kind words, I definitely have much to learn, but I'm happy with the way it came out so far.

As for the Polish mistake, I don't know why, but I was thinking that SEALant will seal up the holes that the clay may have left

Krozi, I'm glad you feel me and I'm sure all the other Jet Black guys do as well. Its not even taking a week, the next day I had to get my CA duster out on it haha.

My Ride: I have an 05 545i. It's a manual with a few options. This is my first BMW but I don't know how I'll ever be able to switch to something else.

Awesome job George!

The paint looks great. And now that you've gotten use to the PC you can start trying out different polishes and waxes and sealants and the never ending quest of having a clean car.

Welcome to my addiction

Yep. Wait until you try Menzerna polishes. Once you see how much more comes out from the Jet Black paint, you will be amazed. On my 2007 Jet Black 530, I couldn't believe what a difference Menzerna makes. Granted, you have to use 2 polishes of various cuts, but the difference is night and day. My Jet Black car looked better than it did when it was new. I'm not looking forward to doing the job on the X5 though... That's at least a 12 hour job. Ughh...

But hey, the end result is SO worth it and nothing beats the sense of accomplishment.
