If you really believe the Corvette is a better sports car than a Porsche, god love you!
I never said it was a better sports car. What I said is that if your looking for the best performance for money then there's no comparison. All you have to do is post the numbers.....

Z06 cost @46k Carrera S 80k
engine: 7.0L/427/ 3.8L
HP 505 @ 6300 355@ 6200
1/4 under 12 12.8 @109

And don't give me that "drag racing" thing either because the vette out performs the 911 on the skidpad. The Porsche does stop quicker but it weighs less so I'm not surprised. I guess for the extra 35k you can wonder why you only get 355hp instead of 505. And I didn't even use the Turbo price of 131k which makes you feel even more foolish. As for loved by God I guess the staff and editors of Car and driver also are loved by God. See the June 2005 issue where they pick the Vette over the 911. Here's the link to the article. Guess I'm not the only one who is foolish enough to put the vette up against the porsche. http://www.caranddriver.com/article.asp?se...4&page_number=1 BTW they didn't use the Z06 against the 911 , they used a base model. And it still won.

"You buy a corvette because you cant afford a Porsche if the truth be told"

Ok now that was without question, the most rediculous statement in all of these posts! Clearly, anyone even standing near the person who made that statement is losing IQ points.

All I can say is I test drove both a Boxster and a Vette two months ago. Driving the Boxster was like inhaling pure crack, while driving the Vette felt like leading a bull around by the horns, and the bull was on crack.

Verdict: Nineteenth-century gearbox aside, Kentucky can be proud

take a read of that.
Its quite interesting really. Yes he likes it but only because its cheap and you get a lot of 'bang for your buck'. However its still fundamentally not in the same league as a Porsche.

As in most discussions where folks are "taking sides," there are at least two sides to this coin, and in fact it's probably not a coin but a dreidel. (If you're thick as two planks that means there's more than two sides.)

Really, either a Corvette or a Porsche is a really fun automobile, as is the Acura NSX or the (gone-but-not-forgotten) Toyota Supra, the Mustang Cobra or Saleen GT, the Toyota MisterTwo, the Viper, the Aussie GTO, the (gone-but-not-forgotten) Taurus SHO, the Maserati Quattroporte, any Ferrari or Lambo, the Morgan, the Lotus Elite, the ... (you fill in the blank). And especially the e60, our forum's raison d'etre!

Why does this need to be a "mine is bigger than yours" contest? If the willing lady is satisfied, I say who gives a flip how big it is? Especially if she comes back for more.

BTW, as regards cetyl esters, it really does not matter whether the esterified cetane originates in coal liquids, petroleum, palm oil, whale oil, butter, lard, or the waste collection tank from a liposuction operation. Cetane esters are cetane esters, and they have no clue what their source of origin is. Neither does the paint they protect.
