Do I need all those pads and do I need more than one set? You said you'll have FLEX polishers in stock in about a month? Are you affiliated with DetailersDomain.com?

What polishes do you recommend for my needs:

My paint is in pretty good shape and has minor spiderwebbing from normal wash, so I don't think I would need that intensive of a polish. I was thinking MENZERNA PO106FF for the paint.

But I bought some used Euro-headlights that need some major correction. I already have Meguiars's PlastX, do I need a more intensive polish?

So do I need the entire set of pads or can I get away with just a couple? Do I need to get more than one set?

What's the differences between the different polishes. Will they work on the headlights? Is PlastX gonna cut it?

Get the cutting pad and the polishing pad first if you don't wanna get the entire set cos these two will be used most of the time and i apply sealant or wax by hand so finsihing pad can be missed at this stage.

PlastX will work but it might take ages (depends on how bad your headlights), i'd suggest Menz 3.02 followed by 85RD. (Wet sanding maybe needed if your headlights looks really bad)

Cheers

What's the difference between all the different Menz polishes: PO 91E, PO 87MC, PO 106FF, PO 85RD, Super Intensive Polish (aka PO83 and PO85RD3.02)?

They all seem to do the same thing based on the descriptions I've read.

Some have more cut than the others

E.g
91L
Cut: 3.5 (Max: 5.0)
Gloss: 3.0 (Max:5.0)

IP 3.02 (PO85RD3.02) ----->Slightly more cut than PO91L
Cut: 3.5 (Max: 5.0)
Gloss: 3.0 (Max:5.0)

106FF
Cut: 2.5 (Max: 5.0)
Gloss:5.0 (Max: 5.0)

85RD
Cut: 1.5 (Max: 5.0)
Gloss: 5.0+ (Max:5.0)

Hope this help!

Keith

keith,

I have a monaco blue car, would you say the 85RD will provide it more gloss than the 106ff? i wasn't planning on using multiple plishers just the 106ff.

please advise?

This was my plan

wash car meguiars gold
clay with mothers clay
rinse car
polish P106FF
NUBA pinnacle souveran paste wax
Seal opti-seal

What do you think about this?

rj, I think you need to seal first, then wax.

Keith, when you say (Max: 5.0)... do you mean on a scale from 0-5? Also, do you recommend that I get 3.02, 106FF and 85RD? Can I just use 3.02 and a light cutting pad to simulate what 106FF would do?

Looks good mate! But make sure you seal before wax

And u might need menz IP3.02 as 106FF may not have enough cut for our hard paint,

But try 106FF on a test area (1/6 bonnet) first (2 pass might needed) before u do the whole car.

goodluck
