I gave my own car a good wash today. Last two washes have been brushless automatic car washes, so there was a greyish film on the surface plus the usual dirt.

Basic wash, nothing special, but I "tested" some quick detailers that I have. I put them on different panels and here are few, quick comments about them:

Presta Spray'N Shine:
+ my long time favourite
+ possibly has slight filling abilities
- doesn't give much protection
- doesn't have much cleaning abilities

Meguiar's Ultimate Quik Detailer
+ smells nice
- bad nozzle --> spreads the spray only horizontal
- doesn't give much protection
- doesn't have much cleaning abilities

Finish Kare #425
+ big bottle --> lasts long
+ leaves the surface VERY slick
- requires very careful wipedown
- doesn't give much protection
- doesn't have much cleaning abilities

Britemax Spray & Shine (sample)
+ easy wipedown
- doesn't have much cleaning abilities

Dodo Juice Red Mist Tropical
+ gives a real protection (spray sealant)
+ smells niiiice
+ very sufficient
- requires very, very careful wipedown (possibly due to "Tropical" version)
- a dust magnet! (again, possibly because it's "Tropical" and requires a very long drying time)

Aquartz Reload
+ gives a real protection (spray sealant)
+ has good cleaning abilities (some insect remains, old wax residues etc.)
+ comes easily visible when dried --> easy to see the missed spots
+ my new favourite

Few pics:

Good job Antti, and nice write up.

I've been using the Finish Care 425 - and it is a good product, as it wipes off fairly easily. I've been trying to find something that performs like Z6(zaino) and this stuff doesn't do it.

I do still want to try the DoDo Juice Red Mist sealant - been using the Klasse sealant over Menzerna polish for the last few details.

Red Mist is candy, but I'd go Aquartz Reload over the Dodo. If you want to go with Red Mist, try finding the original, not the Tropical version. The Tropical version stays wet longer and I consider this as a con in colder temps.

WoW Antti thats some good beading action there. Great photography also

I have question in regards to contaminates Antti. When you can't remove surface contaminates off the top with a claybar what do you use? I was considering Aquartz Iron cut from Detailers domain.

Actually that hasn't happened yet. Or maybe it has happened but I haven't noticed that then. Iron Cut might do the work, I haven't used it or any similar products myself.

Oh ok, Ya I've done a Lexus with the owner not taking care of the car had a lot of contaminates on the surface. The Zaino clay bar I have used and ONR for lubrication still catch my clay bar with a lot of contaminates. After claying the surface still fills filled with contaminates that's why i'm asking what you have done in the past about this kind of problem.

Yeah it might be that I haven't confronted a badly contaminated vehicle yet.
