I guess if you don't dust in the same direction each time
Yeah....I still don't buy it. If you do it right with light pressure, you should not be producing any swirls, regardless of whichever direction. Microscopic scratches maybe.

My detailer says to stay away from the california duster as it scratches the paint. i use it on the occasion and before putting my car cover on. Don't believe it has scratched my paint. Thoughts?
I dust almost every day and have not noticed any "swirls" or microscratches on the dark finish. You're more likely to get the swirls from the towels used to dry the car.

Look, this is a car, not a museum piece. You're bound to get swirls or microscratches. When that time comes, it's a clue to get it clayed, polished, and waxed.

Enjoy the ride and don't sweat the small stuff

I use the CCD and I've not seen evidence of scratches on black, red, or white paint. But. You have to resist the urge to use the duster on dirt. It's for dust. Nothig more. I'm 100% certain that a MF and Meg's QD puts more scratches on the car. I'm going to move to a different quick detailer spray.

Barry
