I bought my car CPO and it looks like the previous owner was a drive through car wash kind of person. I can't get these damn swirls out! I have had no problems on my black 07 FJ or 01 S2000. I am using Advanced Swirl remover followed by Advanced Finishing polish with an Oragne CCS pad and a PC set to ~5.5. Any ideas? I am thinking of buying some meserma and maybe a metabo. (basically going to copy FMINUS)

Why don't you just take your car to Phil (FMINUS). (kind of serious though...)

Maybe a bit off the subject but speaks of hard BMW paint.

Last week end I wiped a bunch of white latex paint off my brother-in-law?s garage door frame. Most of the right rear wheel well edge was now solid white paint. I could not budge it loose with anything I wanted to try.

I went to my dealer?s on site body people [they use a firm named Magnum] for an estimate to repaint. The guy said he had the remove the white paint to see how much damage to the original paint there was.

He brought out a wash bottle of lacquer thinner, and asked if that was original factory paint. Since it is factory, he proceeded to rub off all of that white latex exterior house paint. We found no damage at all to my Carbon Black paint. The original paint looked original with absolutely no sign of my screw up!

That is hard paint in my opinion.

And a great experience with my dealer ? Global Imports Atlanta

Yes BMW paint is harder than most paints. But not in the "HARD" range yet...

Use a FLEX/Rotary with SIP or 106FF

Thanks! I'll have to pick up a FLEX.
