1st time ever, the previous owner treated the car like shit, looks like he washed it with rocks.

I hate people that buy a great car then treat it with disrespect, buy a ford if you want to drive it into the ground

Looks great mate! How long did it take you in total?

Do you have any other before pics to show the extent of the foolish washing practises of the previous owner?

My Ride: I have an 05 545i. It's a manual with a few options. This is my first BMW but I don't know how I'll ever be able to switch to something else.

Hi Guys,
in answer to all your questions:
I found it really difficult to show the damage to the car in a photo, the swirl one was the only pic that came out properly. There were scratches on the bonnet by the drivers door, scratches on the bootlid and what looked like tarnished (almost white) paint on the bootlid.
it took me all day to get it looking like that. With a couple of short breaks for tea...
The cost was ?287.43 all in.
The Megs G220 was really easy to use and did the job perfectly.
Anyone who is dubious about machine polishing should just have a go, I didn't get out all the scratches as I only polished with each compound once as I had never done it before, but it was easier than I thought. A little bit of patience is all that's needed.

Oh, and the guides from Polished Bliss of course. They were excellent.

I have added some pre-machine polishing pictures, click the link in the first post and scroll down to see the sort of damage that the car had before polishing.
