Hi ,
I bought a (2007) CPO few months back. It was a leased car before I bought it and I could clearly see that the wheels are not taken care off. Its full of brake dust and other road debris stuck like tar. I tried to wash away but they are stubborn not coming off. Is there any detailer who would just do my wheels? I live in southern Connecticut (Stamford).

Thanks guys..

you can do it yourself.

wash them with P21S Wheel Cleaner then clay them then polish them and wax them you should be good to go.

you should pull them all off and then do them.

I have a similar situation when I got my car. What I did is use gasoline. Damped your rag and apply it to your wheels. inside and out. I took them off the car and did it one at a time. Wash and rinse after and apply wax to protect it from element. GL

Thank you pyiu & al ongavano. I have also got some response from other forums to use "Meguiars Wheel Brightener ". Has any one tried it? I am hearing a lot about safety while using it.

I've been using Meguiars since 2007 and have never had any problems using their Waxes, washes, wheel polish, tire glosses etc..

Too harsh on the painted and coated wheel finishes!

Both P21 and wheel brighter are great stuffs
You can also try clay bar to remove the tars on your wheels

I've used DP Wheel Gel and it's the best thing I've tried yet, but I'm a detail noob.

I use also gasoline (but cleaned one) for cleaning up the inner engine parts.

But for wheels it is not by any means recommended.

Just use the best market brand cleaner and then wax the wheels.

Be sure that not any wax nor any other oily produce go even near the breaks.
