Cracking paint work
Hi all
I've noticed alot of poor paint work on the pillar next to my boot/trunk https://cimg2.ibsrv.net/gimg/5series...55ab19b03b.jpg . I'm a complete novice on body work but I'm planning on filling the fine scratches and imperfections with filler and then sanding, primer and painting. I've attached a pic. Is this the best solution or is there another way and what grit of sanding do I need? What kind of finish should I expect doing it this way? thanks in advance |
Don't fill it.
Sand down with p320 until cracks have gone. Then prime, I assume you have no professional equipment so will be using spray cans. Try and find an epoxy etch primer, apply many light coats and leave to dry overnight. Next day sand it with p400 and apply your 'topcoat' I'm a professional painter so I can only tell you the results will be very average, but possibly more acceptable to you than cracked paint.... |
