<_< Ok fellas I'm getting tired of cleaning the brake dust off these wheels! I have the factory pads, clearcoated or waxed etc. etc. the wheels. They get black inside a few hundred miles! Anyone have better luck with other pads? Cleaning wheels is not my favorite thing to do (Ok,its my second favorite thing)

Firstly, welcome to our little forum here. :) Secondly, get used to the brake dust, and the constant cleaning, or stop using your brakes. :P

I have used Rim Ice and it has kept my wheels relatively clear of dust and easy to clean.
See: http://forums.e60.net/index.php?showtopic=...&hl=rim+ice |
:) Thanks guys - anyone else wanna throwdown here? Some good pads, less dust, hows the braking/longevity? Recomendations? I'm looking for an easy fix here, like what pads do I change to? It's 2006 fergoshsakes, there has got to be an easier way!!!!!

C'mon now, it's not all that bad, just don't get the tire magic on the rims - turns the dust to an oily paste

I have bought the Mequires Tire cleaning spray. Sorry I cannot remember the name of it exactly, but it works great! I just spray it on and wash it right off. Works very very well.

What brake dust? I use Axis Deluxe pads...no dust to speak of. The dealer installed them with 500km on the car. I'm at 11,000km now with no problems, no noise, and no dust. :wow:

I might give these a try - glad to hear to are happy with them. By the way, on their BMW products page they even have a link to the e60.net forum!
You won't be disappointed. I was nervous about non-oem pads, but a friend of mine has been running them for a few years on all his cars (2002 M5, 2001 X5, 2000 Boxster) with no problems what so ever. |
