Hello 5series.net!

Car:
This BMW E36 328i was the first car to polish for this summer. The colour is cosmosschwarz. Not sure about the manufacturing year. The owner is working with the car at the moment, so don't worry about the holes in the trunk lid etc.

Clearcoat and scratches:
The overall condition was very bad. Lots of deep scratches and of course heavy swirling.

Polishes and pads:
I was planning doing it in two phase, but ended up doing three phases on some panels. I was able to achieve, lets say a 85-90% correction.

I started with the Menzerna P203S + Lake Country yellow cutting pad + Flex PE14-2, which worked ok. On some panels I did two passes, and there where some heavy correction was needed, I followed with the P203S + Lake Country orange light cutting pad combination.

The second phase (or the third on some spots), was the Britemax #4 Black Max + Lake Country orange light cutting + FLEX XC 3401 VRG. I wanted to try orange pad instead of white polishing pad (which I usually use at this point) to get still some more correction power.

Sealing the paint:
I put the Finish Kare 1000P on top, and Meguiar's Gold Class Endurance Tyre Gel was put on tyres. I didn't do anything to wheels, as the owner was waiting new wheels. I also didn't have time enough to touch the exhaust pipes. This was a plain paint enhancement.

---------------------------------------------------------------

The process was:

1) Prewash
- Turtle Wax Super Detergent spray
- Bilt-Hamber Autofoam

2) Wash
- Bilt-Hamber Autofoam
- two bucket method + sheepskin mitt

3) Claying
- Sonüs Ultra Fine Detailing clay
- Bilt-Hamber Autofoam as lubricant

4) Polishing
- Menzerna P203S + Lake Country yellow cutting pad + Flex PE14-2
- Menzerna P203S + Lake Country orange light cutting pad + Flex PE14-2
- Britemax #4 Black Max + Lake Country orange light cutting pad + FLEX XC 3401 VRG

5) LSP
- Finish Kare 1000P

6) Others
Tyres:
- Meguiar's Gold Class Endurance Tyre Gel

Windows:
- AutoGlym Fast Glass

Bad, deep scratches on the right side C-pillar.

I was amazed how well I was able to diminish them.
