Black Specs/Spots

My Ride: 2006 530 xi, Black Sapphire Metallic, Auburn Leather,poplar grain wood trimi, prem. pkg., prem. sound pkg., cold weather pkg., steptronic auto. trans., front comfort seats, split folding rear seats w/ski bag,rear heated seating, power rear sunshade and manual rear side window shades, park distance control, BMW on-board navigation system and satellite radio.

Anyone experiencing tiny black specs that are little raised bumps that can be scraped off with a fingernail? I've heard that they come from mulch and are little spores being projected, others say it's insect and/or spider mess. :'(

Use some Meguiar's quick clay detailer.(or similar)

lt is designed to remove such contaminants.

Could be any number of surface contaminants (tree sap, road tar, rubber from tires, etc.). Time to clay the car. Good to do every 6 months. I've been using Clay Magic for years with great results:

I've never "clayed" a car. What is involved? I'm surprised that this is needed when I've only had the car for four weeks!
