Hi All,

I have had my 2004 545i motorsport only one week with secondhand Autoart 20"x10.5 black centres with 6"polished lips that were to say slightly burnished looking ...they were only 3months old. But never been polished ...no kerb rash though...

So attacked them today with "Mother's Billet polish"... which is the price of gold... spent one hour per wheel by hand using mircofibre cloth...You would swear I had had them chromed.
Can not belive the transformation...

If this has all been said before shoot me...............But felt it well worth repeating...

Will post before and after photos tomorrow for all those that have polished lip wheels...

Cheers Folks

Niiice... do you happen to know if your lips were clear coated before? Because the finish on my lips used to look shiny like yours do now, but now they are starting to look a little dull. I was told they were clear coated, but I'm not so sure now.

Hi ...The NZ agent for these wheels who's they were previous...told me to use "Autosol" as it was a metal polish as the wheels had no clear coat...but after a good rub with this nothing really changed the lips still had a dull shine ...yes brighter than before but not mirror.
We had a 4cyl turbo boyracer carshow on this weekend with a big display of carcare suppliers. The Mothers rep demonstrated the Billets polish on a old piece of alumi after 30seconds you could have shaved looking into it.
If your wheels are clear coated and dull see if a shop will let you sample a piece on mircofibre and try somewhere discreet. Im sure it would cut the clear coat off anyway and leave this mirror shine.
Then of course you will have no clearcoat so it will mean a quick polish once a month to keep it gleaming. So I'm hoping.
Mothers ...do make a mini power ball which you can use to apply the billets with a power tool...but my centres overhang the lips by 1.5" and didn't want to damage the black...so a big hand job was the only way to get right up close to the centre seam...
Goodluck I know you will be as rapt as I am
Cheers
