The gray will do the same a little bit. After 2 weeks of ownership I clean the leather every 2 weeks now at a minimum. But the car smells great from the cleaner and looks new again.

Will the gray interior be similar to the Beige in this respect? i.e. looking "lived in"
I've had gray leather on two E39's and have it now on my E60.

All I can say is that I never have to worry about the leather in my cars. None of them ever got noticeably dirty and I'm not one to extensively clean the interior very often. I do the windows, vacuuming, and dashboard/console dusting regularly -- that's it.)

I am one to be very careful about getting the car dirty. I don't get in the car if I'm dirty, etc. Not sure how much difference that makes though.

My $.02.

I have beige interior (nasca) for about 10 months. Cleaned twice in a car wash and every time came as nice as new.
I also bought the bmw cleaning kit but i never got the time to try it... Someday i will and i'll let you know.

Meguire's leather cleaner/conditioner works well. does not leave leather oily and is quite easy to use. I use once a month and the beige seats are still clean after 9 months.

I have light grey leather...I will be buying sheepskin seat covers. It's ridiculous how easy it get dirty. The light grey BMW floor mats, the brake dust, the interior...I'm a slave...I need a maid for my car.....

Hence why I like the black interior... Seriously even in my tan cars I would get black rubber BMW mats.... Use them during winter and early spring. Switch back to the carpeted ones in late spring through autumn

I really like the beige but decided to take the black instead, ecause I was too afraid that I will get the same problem...
For cleaning my black nasca leather I've got the BMW leather cleaner.

I have tried Zymol spray with good results on my grey interior. It doesn't smell (good or bad) and leaves no residue. It cleans, but it behaves like it's just soapy water. Armor All or other leather cleaners I've tried leave an oil that either coats the glass inside and makes seeing difficult after a time and cleaning horrific, or the oils left behind attract dirt. It can be cleaned off easily with the residue but I don't like the abrasion gritty dirt can do to the leather surface.
