This weekend it was Audi's turn to be detailed!

The car belongs to my buddy who loves cars like me. He just purchased a BMW Z4 and it will be detailed before the winter .

Ok, back to the Audi. It's A6 Quattro 3.0tdi, but I'm not sure about the year, but it's between 2005 - 2007 anyway.

The color is silver, but I never asked the owner about the precise color name- Ice silver, maybe ? However, it hides the imperfections very good and I had to struggle to catch them with my camera. In a straight sunlight they were easy to see, but my halogens were almost useless. Inside the garage I had to observe the surface on certain angles to bring the imperfections visible to eye and camera. The best light source during polishing was my LED torch. It's unforgivable for scratches.

The clearcoat was superhard and I had to go up all the way to Menzerna PO85RD 3.02 and Lake country CCS Yellow Cutting pad. I've had some great experiences with this combo and it finishes incredibly well! So I had to hit the paint only once (except the hood) with this combo (used by my Flex XC 3401 VRG).

The process was:
1) Pre-Wash
- Korrek Power Wash detergent spray
- Bilt-Hamber Autofoam

2) Wash
- Turtle Wax Big Orange
- Two bucket method + Microfiber mitt
- Astonish Car Care Wheel Wash

3) Claying
- Zaino Z-18
- Bilt-Hamber Autofoam as a lubricant

4) Polish
- Menzerna PO85RD 3.02 + Lake Country CCS Yellow Cutting pad
- Flex XC 3401 VRG

5) LSP
- Chemical Guys EZ Creme Glaze w/Acrylic Shine II + LC CCS White Polishing pad
- FK1000P

6) Tyres, black plastics, windows
- AutoGlym Instant Tyre Dressing
- AutoGlym Bumper Care
- AutoGlym Fast Glass

-----------------------------------------------------------------

Before everything & wash & claying:

Sorry only inside pics before the wash.

Korrek Power Wash detergent sprayed.

Autofoam.

Almost nothing was caught on clay.

After the wash before polishing:

Easiest to catch the swirls with the camera was outside in sunlight before getting the car inside.

Preparing:

Average reading.

Surprisingly low amount of paint was on the lowest parts of vertical panels.

Repainted trunk hatch.

After (no LSP's):

The hood before/after.

I took the car out to see the results in sunlight and noticed that I have to hit the hood second time. This is after I got the car back in. I put a towel to cover the front fender which was already polished.

That is a great color, could be the color of my next car (not saying it would be Audi though).
I'll never have a black car again.
